About Me

A year ago I was Director of Video at a national nonprofit specializing in kids & media. Today I am the stay home mom of a sweet, active, and precocious toddler.

When I decided to put my career on pause and take on the more challenging yet infinitely more rewarding job of raising my daughter I realized that I needed a new creative outlet. I missed the daily problem solving and challenges that feedings, diaper changes and play-dates couldn't fill.

And so I rediscovered crafting.

As a girl I was an avid crafter and seamstress, making everything from purses to prom dresses, clay chess sets to stained-glass vases. As I got older my craftiness slowly fell by the wayside. Halloween costumes, burning man attire and some home decor was all I had the time or creative juice for.

Once Zora was born I started making and sewing cute things for her, and then for myself. The more I made the more ideas I had. The more ideas I had the more I wanted to share them. And so Befringe was born.
